Top 10 Most Visited Cities in the World in 2022

 

     Here in this blog post, I am going to show you the most visited cities in the world. I will also include in my blog why these cities are visited by such a large number of peoples and their key attractions which drives millions of international tourists to the cities. According to the 2017 report of the World Economic Forum, Switzerland, these are the top 10 most visited cities in the world:

1. Hong Kong (26.6 million visitors)

     Hong Kong is an autonomous territory of the People's Republic of China and is situated in the southern part of China. Until recently, it was a British territory, The British govt transferred the sovereignty of Hong Kong to the People's Republic of China on 1st July 1997. It is often termed as the vertical city as it has the largest number skyscrapers in the world. The city is known for the international trade and also for its tourist attractions. The city of Hong Kong is the most visited city in the world which attracted 26.6 million visitors last year.

2. Bangkok, Thailand (21.2 million visitors)

     Bangkok is the capital city of Thailand. The city is famous for its amazing nightlife experience. Besides, this city has numerous tourist attractions e.g, it has numerous beaches and some top level international chain hotels and resorts. The city's beaches are so beautiful that it attracts numerous film industries to shoot their films here. The city of Bangkok attracted 21.2 million visitors last year.

3. London, UK (19.2 million visitors)

     London is the capital city of England and is the biggest city in the United Kingdom. Also, it is one of the most famous cities of the world. This city is generally regarded as the education hub of the world as it has numerous world famous universities e.g, Oxford University, Cambridge University etc. Both of these universities are constantly ranked among the top 10 Universities in the world. Also, there are so many prestigious universities out there which bears a world wide fame. The city has so many things to offer to its tourists which is quite impossible to write in a single paragraph. Simply, it has everything  to offer that a visitor can think off. The city of London attracted 19.2 million visitors last year.

4. Singapore

     Singapore is a city state with one of the finest infrastructure in the world. The city is one of the top trading and tourist destinations of the world. The city has the best airline and the highest quality port in the world. It is home to some of the best transnational chain hotels and resorts of the world. The Marina Bay Sands is currently the second most expensive hotel in the world. It is home to some of the top multinational banks in the world. It is also one of the richest and cleanest countries in the world. The city of Singapore attracted 16.6 million visitors last year.

5. Macau (15.4 million visitors)

     Macau city is an autonomous city of the People's Republic of China. And it is officially known as the Macau Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China and is situated it the south coast of China. The city mostly famous for gambling and leisure activities. The city has some of the largest Casino's of the world and also there are some of the best international hotels there. The city of Macau attracted 15.4 million visitors last year.

     

6. Dubai, UAE (14.9 million visitors)

     Dubai is the largest city of the United Arab Emirates. It has become the largest commercial hub of the Middle-East. The city has amazing skylines and it has one of the best infrastructure in the world. It has the best road infrastructure in the world. The city is often termed as the city of superlatives as it has so many things which are the biggest, the largest, the tallest in the world. The city has numerous tourist attractions e.g, The Dubai Mall, The Burj Khalifa, Dubai Miracle Garden, The Palm Island etc. Dubai houses the best line of international hotels, resorts and malls. The city of Dubai attracted 14.9  million tourists last year.

7. Paris, France (14.4 million visitors)

     Paris is the fashion capital of the world. It is the capital city of France. The city of Paris is one of the most visited cities of all time. The city offers an amazing nightlife experience. The tourists mainly visit the city for its splendid infrastructure and for its culture and arts. One of the main attraction of Paris is the iconic Eiffel Tower which used to be the tallest man made infrastructure in the world nearly for a century. Moreover, the city has different world class hotels and resorts. The city of Paris attracted 14.4 million visitors last year.

8. New York, USA (12.7 million visitors)

     New York is the largest city in the USA. It is one of the main commercial hub of the world. New York is sometimes nicknamed as the Skyscraper City of the world. Students from different parts of the world comes to the city to do jobs in the corporate sectors. 9. Shenzhen, China (12.6 million visitors)

     Shenzhen, also known as Sham Chun, is a modern metropolitan city situated in the south-eastern part of China. The city is growing rapidly over the past few years. The city has so many tourist attractions e.g, Luohu Commercial City, which is a massive mall that has the stores of different prestigious national and international brands. 10. Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia (12.3 million visitors)

     Kuala Lumpur is the capital city of Malaysia. It is the biggest commercial city of the nation. The city has numerous magnificent buildings. It was until recently home to the worlds tallest building, The Petronus Twin Towers, which was surpassed in 2010 by Dubai's Burj Khalifa. The city has spectacular skylines. The city has different world class shopping malls, amusement parks, hotels and resorts which drives millions of tourists to the city. The city has become a popular film shooting destination for its magnificent skylines. The city of Kuala Lumpur attracted 12.3 million visitors last year.
